About David Hastings Eckerd College Professor

David Hastings Eckerd College Professor is a highly respected marine geochemist and chemical oceanographer who embarked on his career journey by joining the esteemed faculty of Eckerd College in 2000. His dedication to education and research has made him a prominent figure in marine science, environmental science, and chemistry.

David's academic pursuits began with a focus on chemistry at Princeton University, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Building upon this solid background, he achieved a Ph.D. in chemical oceanography from the esteemed University of Washington.

Paleoclimatology, the study of past climate changes revealed in ocean sediments, is the focal point of David's research interests. He unravels the complex history of our planet's climate through meticulous investigations, drawing insights from the wealth of information stored in ancient oceanic deposits.
